2025年7月28日、京都の立命館高校から約30名の生徒が化学物理工学科を訪問しました。
まず、大学1年生の必修科目「化学物理工学入門」の授業の一部、「原子と光で磁場を測る〜量子センシング入門〜」の模擬授業を体験していただきました。教室では大学生が実験を実演し、装置の原理について全員で議論しながら学びました。
その後、学科の4つの研究室を見学。教員や大学院生から最先端の研究内容や学生生活について説明を受け、生徒の皆さんは熱心に質問をしていました。
今回の訪問が、立命館高校の皆さんのさらなる学びのきっかけとなれば幸いです。

Ritsumeikan High School Students Visit the Department of Chemical Physics and Engineering (July 28, 2025)
On July 28, 2025, about 30 students from Ritsumeikan High School in Kyoto visited the Department of Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering.
First, they experienced a mock lecture based on a first-year university course called “Introduction to Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering” specifically the session titled “Measuring Magnetic Fields with Atoms and Light: An Introduction to Quantum Sensing.” TUAT students demonstrated experiments in the classroom, and all participants discussed the principles behind the magnetic field measurement devices together.
Afterwards, the students toured four research laboratories in the department. They received explanations from professors and graduate students and actively asked questions, learning about cutting-edge research as well as student life.
We hope this visit will inspire deeper learning and curiosity among the Ritsumeikan High School students.
