このたび、金尚弘先生ほかによる『実践プロセスシステム工学』（丸善出版, 2025年12月25日刊行）が刊行されました。本書は、化学プラントの設計・運転・最適化に欠かせないプロセスシステム工学（PSE）の知識を、実務と学問の両面から整理した実践的テキストです。
PSEはその適用範囲が広く、必要な知識も多岐にわたります。本書では、PSEに求められる知識を「モデリング」「制御」「データ解析」「システム工学」の四つのカテゴリーに分け、さらに5段階の技術レベルで整理。1章で全体像を示した後、2～5章で各カテゴリーの基礎知識を体系的に解説しています。6章では、プラント設計やシミュレーション、トラブル解析など、PSE技術者が関わる典型的な業務手順を基礎知識と関連づけて紹介。

New Book Release: Practical Process Systems Engineering
We are pleased to announce the release of Practical Process Systems Engineering by Dr. Kim Sang-Hong and colleagues (Maruzen Publishing, December 25, 2025). This book provides a practical and comprehensive overview of process systems engineering (PSE), essential for the design, operation, and optimization of chemical plants, from both academic and industrial perspectives.
PSE covers a wide range of applications and requires knowledge across many domains. The book organizes the essential PSE knowledge into four categories—Modeling, Control, Data Analysis, and Systems Engineering—further structured into five levels of technical expertise. After an overview in Chapter 1, Chapters 2–5 systematically introduce the fundamentals of each category. Chapter 6 connects these foundations to typical tasks for PSE engineers, including plant design, simulation, and troubleshooting.
