Announcement: Seminar on Catalysis by Bo-Qing Xu

We are pleased to announce a seminar by Professor Bo-Qing Xu from the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. The seminar will cover three important topics in the field of catalysis:
Topic 1: Precious Metal-Efficiency in Heterogeneous Catalysts for Thermal and Electro Catalysis
The design, preparation, and structure-performance studies of precious-metal-efficient catalysts. The use of precious metal elements in heterogeneous catalysts, their stabilization on high-surface area supporting materials, and their applications in energy conversion and environmental protection technologies.
Topic 2: Selectivity Control in Acid-Base Catalysis for Valorization of Several Biomass-Derived Oxygenates
The role of solid acid-base catalysts in the selective valorization of biomass-derived oxygenates. Various reactions and how the nature of acidic and basic sites on catalysts influences product selectivity.
Topic 3: Heterogeneous Catalysis for Glycerol Valorization by Selective Oxidation Reactions
The aerobic oxidation of glycerol and other polyols over supported metallic catalysts, emphasizing the selective production of valuable chemicals from glycerol, a co-product of biodiesel production.

トピック1：熱および電気触媒における貴金属の効率
貴金属効率触媒の設計、準備、および構造-性能研究。主な議論は、貴金属元素の固体（不均一）触媒における使用、高表面積支持材料への安定化、およびエネルギー変換や環境保護技術における応用。
トピック2：バイオマス由来酸素化合物の価値向上のための酸-塩基触媒における選択性制御
固体酸-塩基触媒がバイオマス由来酸素化合物の選択的価値向上において果たす役割。さまざまな反応と、触媒上の酸性および塩基性サイトの性質が生成物の選択性に与える影響。
トピック3：選択的酸化反応によるグリセロールの価値向上のための不均一触媒
バイオディーゼル生産の副産物であるグリセロールの好気的酸化と他のポリオールの研究を探求し、グリセロールからの貴重な化学物質の選択的生産
