流動層工学を核とした学術・産業・人材育成・多分野連携での国際的貢献

堀尾正靱氏は,エネルギー・環境分野を中心に,化学工学会のみならず国,自治体,関連学協会等で活躍し,本学会の国際的な学術,産業両面での存在感の向上に貢献してきた。化学工学会では,2001年に研究賞を受賞し,流動層研究会創設,粒子流体部会設立にかかわり同部会長(2008~9年度)を務めた。また,エネルギー部会では,石炭利用技術研究会設立時以来の功労者である。国際活動としては,1997~2000年本学会・英文誌編集委員長として,英文誌のスタイルを一新しその発展に貢献した。また,Powder Technology誌 Regional Editor(1997~2008),世界社会科学フォーラム(2018)での多分野統合セッションを含む各種国際会議の主催等,様々な国際活動を展開し,米国化学工学会(AIChE)Particle Technology Forum Fluor Daniel Lectureship Award 等数々の国際賞を受賞している。以上より同氏の貢献は化学工学会国際功労賞に十分値するものと認められる。
Dr. Masayuki Horio has been active not only in the field of energy and environment in the Society of Chemical Engineers (SCEJ), but also in national, municipal, and related academic societies, contributing to the international presence of the Society in both academic and industrial fields. In the Society (SCEJ), he received the Research Award in 2001, founded the Fluidized Bed Research Group, and was involved in the establishment of the Particle Fluid Division and served as its chairman (2008-9). In the Energy Division, he has been a member of the Coal Utilization Technology Research Group since its establishment. As for international activities, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the English Journal of SCEJ from 1997 to 2000, and contributed to the development of a new style of English journal. He also served as Regional Editor of Powder Technology (Elsevier, 1997-2008), organized various international conferences, including a multidisciplinary integration session at the World Social Science Forum (2018), and received the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Particle He has received numerous international awards, including the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Particle Technology Forum Fluor Daniel Lectureship Award. His contributions to the field of chemical engineering are considered worthy of the SCEJ International Distinguished Service Award.
