Student：レンゴロ先生はどのような研究をしていたんですか？ What kind of research did you do, Professor?
Lenggoro：私は修士までは高分子成形と固体力学を学んでいたのですが、指導教員が定年退職となったため、博士課程に進学して同じテーマで研究を続けることができなかったんです。I had been studying polymer molding and solid mechanics until my master’s degree, but I could not continue my research on the same topic when I entered the doctoral program because my supervisor retired.

Lenggoro：広島大学では、主に電池やLED用の材料をやっていました。ITとか電子材料ですね！しかし、農工大に来て方向転換しました。農工大について調べたところ、「農と工・・・どういうこと？！」となりました。私が今居るBASE棟(生物システム応用科学府)は、農と工とが融合した学府なんですよ！どのように貢献できるかを私なりに一生懸命考えました。そして、「環境」と「微粒子」というキーワードを探し出しました。またそれに関連して、今の研究テーマである「植物」なども決まりました。面白い。今でも面白い。超楽しい！！農工大に来てよかったなと思いました。At Hiroshima University, I mainly worked on materials for batteries and LEDs. IT and electronic materials. But I changed my direction when I came to TUAT. When I researched about TUAT, I wondered, ‘What does agriculture and engineering mean?!’ The BASE building where I am now is a graduate school that combines agriculture and engineering! I thought hard about how I could contribute. And I found the keywords ‘environment’ and ‘particles’. And related to that, I also decided on my current research topic, ‘plants’. It’s still interesting. It’s super fun!! I’m glad I came to TUAT.”
