粘土系土壌粒子の化学コーティングは水の蒸発を遅らせる
非常に強い光と物質が相互作用するときに現れる物質の多彩な応答を、新たな応用へと結びつけるための研究を行っています。現在、フェムト秒（10^(-15)秒）まで圧縮したレーザー光を使用し、ナノメートルサイズの物質制御手法の開発に挑んでいます。
高効率なマイクロリアクターの設計、操作法の開発等マイクロ化学プロセスに関する研究、化学プロセスへの非定常操作の応用に関する研究、持続可能なエネルギー変換プロセスに関する研究、ウルトラファインバブルの応用に関する研究等に取り組んでいます。
数ｎｍ～数μｍ程度の大きさの微粒子の構造や表面状態、微粒子間相互作用を実験と計算シミュレーションを用いて求め、微粒子の凝集、力や熱による粒子集合体の再配列、焼結現象等 を基礎的に解明しています。

「放射状に広がる有限体積の流体に形成されるVF」が、地層からの石油回収プロセスや地下水における汚染物質の拡散プロセスで発生していることがわかっており、本成果は、それらのプロセスにおける現象予測の高精度化へ寄与することが期待されます。It is known that “VF formed in a radially spreading finite volume of fluid” is generated in the process of oil recovery from geological formations and the process of pollutant diffusion in groundwater, and this result is expected to contribute to the improvement of the accuracy of phenomenon prediction in these processes.
