class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u540c\u671f\u306e\u4ef2\u9593\u3082\u5e45\u5e83\u3044\u696d\u754c\u3067\u6d3b\u8e8d\u4e2d\u3067\u3059\uff01<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7406\u5de5\u7cfb\u306e\u5927\u5b66\u9662\u3067\u3001\u4eee\u8aac\uff5e\u691c\u8a3c\u3092\u7e70\u308a\u8fd4\u3057\u305f\u7d4c\u9a13\u306f\u3001\u7814\u7a76\u8005\u30fb\u6280\u8853\u8005\u3060\u3051\u3067\u306a\u304f\u3001\u3042\u3089\u3086\u308b\u4ed5\u4e8b\u3067\u5f79\u7acb\u3064\u3082\u306e\u3002\u305d\u306e\u8a3c\u62e0\u306b\u3001\u540c\u671f\u306e\u4ef2\u9593\u3082\u5e45\u5e83\u3044\u696d\u754c\u306e\u7b2c\u4e00\u7dda\u3067\u30d0\u30ea\u30d0\u30ea\u6d3b\u8e8d\u3057\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u56fd\u516c\u7acb\u306a\u3089\u3067\u306f\u306e\u5145\u5b9f\u3057\u305f\u7814\u7a76\u8a2d\u5099\u3068\u71b1\u5fc3\u306a\u5148\u751f\u304c\u3044\u308b\u306e\u304c\u8fb2\u5de5\u5927\u306e\u5927\u304d\u306a\u9b45\u529b\u3002\u3053\u306e\u5bc6\u5ea6\u306e\u6fc3\u3044\u5b66\u3073\u306b\u6ca1\u982d\u3067\u304d\u308b\u74b0\u5883\u304c\u3001\u307f\u306a\u3055\u3093\u306e\u5c06\u6765\u306e\u53ef\u80fd\u6027\u3092\u5fc5\u305a\u5e83\u3052\u3066\u304f\u308c\u308b\u3053\u3068\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u203b\u63b2\u8f09\u5185\u5bb9\u306f\u30012016\u5e7410\u6708\u53d6\u6750\u6642\u306e\u3082\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Current role<\/strong><br>I am editor\u2011in\u2011chief of the web site Nikkei Energy Next, where I oversee content planning and editorial direction. After completing a master\u2019s in Chemical Engineering at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), I joined Nikkei BP. Before this assignment I worked as a reporter and editor at magazines such as Nikkei Communication, Nikkei Ecology, and Nikkei Business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Learning the essence of \u201creporting facts\u201d<\/strong><br>I believe the foundation of my professional approach was formed during the two years of my master\u2019s program. In the lab I was trained to identify engineering solutions to social problems, and to validate valuable facts through rigorous logic. Research requires forming hypotheses and repeatedly performing experiments to improve data reliability \u2014 sometimes tens or hundreds of repetitions. Those demanding days instilled in me the essence of \u201cconveying facts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That training directly benefits my work as a reporter. Careful preparatory research, understanding industry or incident backgrounds, forming a working hypothesis, and then conducting interviews \u2014 repeating that cycle produces valuable articles. My broad science and engineering education also helps me explain cutting\u2011edge technologies clearly to readers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Entry to TUAT and research activities<br>Bioremediation of hazardous chemicals<\/strong><br>Interested in environmental issues since high school, I entered TUAT\u2019s Department of Chemical Engineering. There I encountered research on environmental remediation: using plants and microorganisms to break down harmful chemicals. In the 1990s, so\u2011called \u201cenvironmental hormones\u201d (chemicals affecting human health) were a major concern, with many people reacting to additives in instant\u2011noodle cups and food containers. I found the topic highly meaningful and decided to pursue graduate study, dedicating myself to experiments under demanding supervisors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I later chose to use that environmental knowledge in the media and became a magazine journalist. I applied to Nikkei BP, the publisher of the environmental magazine Nikkei Ecology, which I had often read as a student, and that led to my current career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Launched a student web magazine<\/strong><br>Another motivation for becoming a reporter was starting a web magazine during my studies. With friends (including those with programming skills), I launched \u201cKoganei Kaeru Shinbun\u201d and served as founding editor\u2011in\u2011chief, publishing pieces about campus life and dormitory living \u2014 a memorable experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Message to high\u2011school students<br>Wider career paths for science graduates<\/strong><br>The cycle of hypothesis and verification practiced in a science\u2011oriented graduate program is useful not only for researchers and engineers but across many careers. As proof, my classmates are now active in a wide range of industries and front\u2011line roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TUAT\u2019s strengths are its well\u2011equipped research facilities and dedicated faculty typical of a national university.
