Chemical Engineering Dept., have been recognized in the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/doi.org\/10.17632\/btchxktzyw.8\">Updated Science-Wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators (Version 7)<\/a><\/strong>, published on&nbsp;<strong>September 19, 2025<\/strong>. This database, developed by J. P. A. Ioannidis (Stanford University) and colleagues, ranks scientists globally based on&nbsp;<strong>career-long citation impact<\/strong>, using Scopus (Elsevier) data as of&nbsp;<strong>August 1, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each recognized researcher is classified by their top-ranked subfields and broader scientific domains using the&nbsp;<strong>Science-Metrix system<\/strong>, which includes&nbsp;<strong>22 fields<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>174 subfields<\/strong>. The three active researchers in our department are ranked in areas such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Physical Chemistry<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Energy<\/strong>, (and the broader field of&nbsp;<strong>Chemistry<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Environmental Sciences<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Biotechnology<\/strong>, (and&nbsp;<strong>Earth &amp; Environmental Sciences<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Materials<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Chemical Engineering<\/strong>, (and&nbsp;<strong>Enabling &amp; Strategic Technologies<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition,&nbsp;<strong>four former faculty members (Emeritus Professors)<\/strong>&nbsp;from our department\u2014who contributed significantly\u2014are also listed in the database. TUAT consistently ranks among Japan&#8217;s top institutions, often placing in the top 3 for industry collaboration, research output, and patent royalty among over 780 universities nationwide.<br><strong>As of May 1, 2025, 28 of TUAT&#8217;s 388 full-time faculty members (approximately 7.2%) are listed among the top 2% of scientists worldwide (Career-Long Impact) in their respective fields.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The inclusion of three currently active faculty members from our department underscores the diversity, international influence, and long\u2011term research strength of the Department of Applied Physics and Chemical Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the Ranking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or above in the sub-field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ioannidis, J.
