physics<\/strong>, focusing on colloidal quantum dots, nanomaterials, and optoelectronic devices.<br>His motivation is simple and powerful:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote Although that path changed, the desire to <strong>build aircraft<\/strong> led him into physics and eventually into materials physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, materials physics contributes to many aerospace technologies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Temperature\u2011monitoring sensors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smart electron\u2011shaded aircraft windows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CFRP and other advanced composites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Materials physics unexpectedly connects to aviation and even space.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u25c6 The moment the semiconductor lit up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As a graduate student, he observed an organic semiconductor glowing brightly\u2014 a signal invisible through the microscope but clearly visible when he lifted the protective curtain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>\u201cThat moment of light was unforgettable.
