This study focuses on viscous fingering (VF), a process where the interface between two fluids becomes unstable, forming finger-like patterns. When a chemical reaction produces a gel, the strength of this gel can significantly alter the VF patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The experiments showed that weak gels result in VF patterns similar to non-reactive cases, medium-strength gels make the fingers narrower, and strong gels make them wider.
