international joint research team consisting of Hamirul Bin Othman (TUAT bacheloer student), Prof. Yuichiro Nagatsu, Vandita Sharma (PhD student IIT), Prof. Manoranjan Mishra (Indian Institute of Technology (School of Mathematics)) has discovered through a fusion study of experiments and numerical calculations that when a low-viscosity fluid is forced into a high-viscosity fluid in a porous medium, the interface becomes unstable and the low-viscosity fluid expands like fingers (viscous fingering VF), which is a persistent phenomenon when formed into a radially expanding finite volume
