The problem of high temperature adhesion of ash particles discharged with flue gas is currently a major issue in combustion plants around the world, but in most cases, countermeasures involving trial and error are still being taken. They have developed a new device that can measure the shear strength of a powder layer (the force acting parallel to the surface) as a method to directly analyze this. This was first achieved by using both the university&#8217;s ability to decompose, organize, and evaluate phenomena and the company&#8217;s knowledge of models and equipment manufacturing.
