class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yamashita Research Group proposed a practical method to control an integral process with dead time, under continuous self-excited oscillation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is assumed that the cycle is caused by either the nonlinear property, dead time of the process, or inappropriate parameters. In the actual plants, it is not rare that the wrong PI parameters cause a cycle in slow-response integral processes. The method identifies the integral time constant and the dead time from period of oscillation and PI parameters. Given the internal model control (IMC) filter parameter, a simple method to design robust PI parameters is shown on the IMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposed method will save step response tests in actual plants, which will make robust PI controllers more practical than ever.
